Our Teachers

Our teachers are vital stakeholders in the running of a successful school. They can make the difference between a student’s failure or success. We celebrate and recognise the achievements of our dedicated staff that have passed away with honouring their contribution through providing our students with special awards at their graduation prom.

Meet our 2024 award winners

The Guy Lee EAL Award was awarded to Ashlee Kamagate.
Ashlee has made excellent progress since she started at Platanos College. Ashlee has worked hard to develop her English skills throughout her time in Platanos College. Her creative writing is outstanding and she is someone who we may see be a famous author someday.

The Elizabeth Owurudaba Science Award was awarded to Crystal.
Crystal has consistently demonstrated exemplary behaviour and shown great potential as a budding scientist. She has consistently applied the scientific method to both in lessons and in completing homework, which has resulted in her achieving outstanding grades.

The Vince Snider ICT Award was awarded to Inaya Rose.
Inaya has excelled beyond expectations, demonstrating a deep understanding of computer science principles and an impressive ability to apply them creatively. Her journey is a testament to the power of hard work, dedication and a passion for learning.

The Takele Daba Maths Award was awarded to Diogo Freitas Da Luz.
Diogo has consistently shown a high level of dedication and commitment to his work. He has maintained excellent standards of work and behaviour in all lessons and very supportive of his peers.
